we are being urged as parents to write to the Office of First and Deputy first Minister requesting that the entire matter of the proposed withdrawal of preparatory school funding be placed on the Agenda before the Executive.
The reason for this is the understanding that Sinn Fein still exercises a veto and unless the matter is put on the Agenda by the joint Office then decision making power remains with the Minister for Education.
Ms Ruane drew anger when she opposed bringing the issue before the Executive for discussion, saying that avenue was only used in exceptions.
To be clear, the Motion passed yesterday does not defeat the proposal.
